3 Strikes (a story of a film student who demanded money from me)

Well a few months ago a group of film students for a school project made commercials for my non-profit group.

It was cool, we got along famously. Then…

the ring leader calls demanding a little less than a thousand dollars in expenses (gas money primarily). My initial instinct is to say “Go fuck yourself”. But fortunately cooler heads prevailed.

So I was selected to sort this out, why? I have a talent for politely telling people to go suck it, in a professional setting.

Tuesday evening…sure..no problem, then a cancel. That’s fine, I have a lot of meetings on Tuesdays.

So they set up a meet at…a bar…on Wednesday night. This is real fucking professional, I think to myself. But whatever, so I go… they call an hour after said time and cancel. Strike 1.

All right, it wasn’t a total loss, I invited a friend out and we got to catch up. Cool.

So the film people want to meet today…at 9…so I get up and make ready….no wait they meant 11.

Strike 2

Strike 3? They give an amount of money in expenses, and offer no proof. I have no problem paying out for gas money. Over five hundred dollars? and I know these people were car pooling. No gas station receipts, no mileage log.

That means NO MONEY you insolent shit. Have your school call me, I’ll tell them you offered no proof of any expense. They will agree with me. Thanks for wasting my fucking time you ass hats.

Strike 3 your out
